Konoba Kala – A Seaside Dining Experience in the Heart of Povlja

Positioned adjacent to the marina and the waterfront in Povlja, Konoba Kala boasts one of the most picturesque settings in the area. Guests can enjoy their meals at tables set right by the water, surrounded by fishing boats, making it a favored spot during the evening when the harbor comes alive with lights and activity.

Unlike many taverns tucked away in narrow stone streets, Kala is fully integrated with the vibrant atmosphere of the harbor. The majority of visitors are drawn here for the unique experience of dining by the sea, with views of boats moored along the shore.

The menu primarily features Mediterranean and seafood dishes, with highlights including:

  • grilled fresh fish,
  • calamari,
  • mussels,
  • octopus,
  • fish soup,
  • black risotto,
  • seafood pasta,
  • sardines,
  • tuna steak,
  • seafood platters.

Particularly noteworthy are:

  • homemade fish soup,
  • seafood pasta,
  • fresh fish depending on the daily catch,
  • sunset dinners by the waterfront.

The restaurant features a traditional Dalmatian layout with outdoor seating, eschewing modern lounge concepts. The ambiance is more aligned with a fishing village than a typical tourist restaurant. During the peak months of July and August, the terrace fills up quickly, especially at dinner time when ferries and boats bring in more guests to Povlja.

Additionally, the establishment offers local Brač wines, olive oil, and simple Dalmatian desserts, with some menu items changing based on the availability of fresh fish and seafood.
