Punta Beach – A Well-Designed Coastal Haven in Povlja

Situated at the entrance of the Povlja bay, Punta Beach, also known as Nova Plaža, offers a unique coastal experience. Its location provides a refreshing breeze and more sunlight compared to the sheltered areas of the village, making it a preferred spot during the hot summer months.

The beach features a well-maintained combination of:

  • fine pebbles,
  • concrete platforms,
  • rocky sections along the shore,
  • steps and ladders for easy access to the water.

The water here is exceptionally clear and often displays a vibrant turquoise hue, particularly due to its position at the bay's entrance. The gradual entry into the sea on the pebbly section makes it suitable for families with children.

Unlike the bustling waterfront and central areas, Punta Beach maintains a tranquil atmosphere, lacking the presence of beach bars, loud music, and heavy foot traffic. This serenity is one of its most appealing features.

Visitors frequently highlight:

  • the pristine quality of the water,
  • the expansive views of the sea,
  • ample space for sunbathing,
  • the peaceful ambiance,
  • the excellent conditions for swimming and extended stays by the shore.

A promenade runs alongside the beach, connecting it to the village center, allowing for a leisurely 15 to 20-minute walk to the waterfront. Most accommodations, including apartments and holiday homes, are located nearby, while restaurants and cafes are concentrated closer to the village center.

Access by car is relatively convenient, with parking available along the road and in small pull-offs above the beach.

Punta Beach is particularly suitable for:

  • families,
  • visitors seeking a well-kept beach without crowds,
  • swimmers,
  • those who prefer a quieter stretch of coastline away from the busy promenade.

In the evenings, the beach becomes especially inviting, offering stunning views of the bay entrance and a peaceful setting to unwind.
