Tatinja Cove – A Secluded Beach with a Military Tunnel and Scenic Access

Nestled to the east of Povlja on the northeastern side of Brač, Tatinja Cove stands out as one of the quieter and less accessible beaches in the area. Unlike the bustling beaches along the waterfront in Povlja, this cove lacks restaurants, beach bars, and developed tourist facilities, allowing it to maintain a natural and serene atmosphere even during peak season.

Accessing the cove by car directly to the water is not feasible. Visitors typically park their vehicles along a dirt road or at designated pull-offs above the cove, followed by a short hike down to the beach. The walk usually takes about ten to fifteen minutes, depending on where one parks, and while the path is not fully paved, it is navigable.

The trail meanders through a picturesque pine forest and rocky terrain, making sturdy shoes or hiking footwear advisable, especially for the return journey uphill in the heat.

The entry to the water is predominantly rocky, making water shoes beneficial, particularly in areas with stones and sea urchins. While the cove enjoys ample sunlight throughout the day, natural shade can be found among the rocks and pine trees.
