BASIC INFORMATION AND POSITION

Prižba is a tourist bay on the southern side of the island of Korčula, consisting of two peninsulas: Ratak and Prišćapac and several smaller bays. Prižba can be reached by car, and there are daily car ferries, and the nearest ferry lines are Vela Luka and Korčula. The nearest airports are Dubrovnik and Split.

CULTURE, HISTORY

These bays were uninhabited until the 1960s, when tourism began to develop and the residents of the town of Blato built holiday homes and weekend cottages in this area. Blato is also the municipality to which Prižba administratively belongs, and over time, villas, apartments and other accommodations adapted to tourists were built in Prižba. In the center of Prižba there is a small monastery of the Sisters of Mercy. Numerous vineyards where the famous Korčula wines are produced, forests surrounding this area, noble villas and other beautiful landscapes make this Mediterranean place attractive to tourists. Numerous sights and cultural heritage worth seeing are only 10 kilometers away in the aforementioned town of Blato, as well as in other places throughout the island.

BEACHES

There are both pebble and concrete and rocky beaches in Prižba and its surroundings. The main beach in the center of Prižba, Žal, has been declared one of the most popular on the entire island of Korčula. The beach offers, among other things: sports and recreation equipment rental, boat rental, volleyball courts, a beach bar, and there are also restaurants nearby.

OTHER CONTENT

There are several restaurants, cafés and pizzerias in Prižba. Whichever restaurant you go to, you will be delighted by the friendliness of the hosts, local food and of course quality local wine. We will single out the Riva1 restaurant. Prižba is an ideal place for long evening walks, this Mediterranean town surrounded by beautiful landscapes always enchants tourists, but for those who still want to party until the morning hours, the nearby town of Korčula has a nightclub.

SPORT

Prižba is an ideal place if you want peace, but it can also be an ideal place if you want an active vacation. In Prižba you can: swim, dive (there is a diving center), windsurf, walk and use the bike paths. It is also interesting that you can rent a small motor boat and visit the nearby uninhabited islands where you can also swim and enjoy privacy.

SIGHTSEEING EXCURSIONS

When you are already in Prižba, it would be ideal to visit other places on the island of Korčula, besides this area, there are many sights to see. From larger places there are organized excursions both around the island and the rest of South Dalmatia, for example: excursions to Dubrovnik, Orebić, excursions to the Mljet National Park, Lastovo Nature Park, excursions to neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina and Međugorje, and many other possibilities.

You can stay in modernly furnished apartments and other private accommodations. We will mention: apartments Bisko and Žal Beach apartments. There is also a campsite in the village, and Vela Luka, from where ferry lines to the mainland depart, is 20 km away.
