Zubovici

BASIC INFORMATION AND LOCATION

Zubovići is a settlement in the Republic of Croatia, part of the City of Novalja, in Lika-Senj County. The village of Zubovići is located in a group of villages that the islanders call Barbati. Zubovići is located between Kustići and Metajna. The island of Pag, and thus Zubovići, can be reached from two directions: by ferry, the Prizna - Žigljen line which runs day and night during the summer months while outside the summer season it runs according to the timetable, and the other way to get to the island of Pag is across the bridge on the south side of the island. The nearest airport is Zadar, about 70 kilometers away.

CULTURE, HISTORY AND ATTRACTIONS

The village was founded in the 18th century and was called Sridnje Selo. Zubovići was founded by the Zubović family from the town of Pag who moved there to fish for tuna. The Zubovićs (surname) were Turkified Croats from Lika who were brought to the town of Pag by the church in the early 17th century, on the condition that they return to Christianity. Zubovići is home to the parish church of the Immaculate Conception, built in 1854.

BEACHES

The beautiful pebble beach of Veli Žal stretches right in the town, and another famous and somewhat hidden "Robinson" beach in the hamlet of Dražica can be reached by a winding and narrow path - it is about 200 meters away. Hidden coves, beautiful beaches, sandy and rocky, crystal clear sea, leave every guest the opportunity to choose one of them to find the peace they are looking for.

OTHER CONTENT

A shop, bakery and several restaurants and cafes are available to guests of the town. The Marina tavern and the Atlantis bistro offer traditional Dalmatian specialties and of course authentic Pag lamb, cheese, olive oil and wine. Those looking for nightlife will have to go to Novalja.

SPORT

Zubovići is a place that offers a peaceful family vacation, but you can complement it with numerous activities, both at sea and on land. In addition to the joys of the sea, you can hike the island's cliffs, climb, cycle - because Pag is excellently networked with cycle paths, jog or go for a long walk through the beautiful nature.

WHAT TO DO AND EXCURSION OPPORTUNITIES

As with all settlements on Pag, you can also explore the island from Zubovići. Every day a different destination. The island itself is located near numerous national parks (Kornati, Paklenica, Northern Velebit, Plitvice Lakes), nature parks (Vransko Jezero, Telaščica and Velebit), the Zrmanja River Canyon, the cities of Zadar, Nin and Šibenik.

ACCOMMODATION
