BASIC INFORMATION AND LOCATION
Dobropoljana is located in the bay of the same name on the island of Pašman, one of the 300 islands in the Zadar archipelago, which is connected to the mainland and the city of Biograd by boat via the neighboring island of Ugljan. The settlement is located in the northeastern part of the island, below the highest peak on the island (Bokolj, 274 m). The economy is based on agriculture, viticulture, olive growing, fishing and shipping. The harbor is well protected from the winds and is a good shelter for smaller yachts.
CULTURE, HISTORY AND ATTRACTIONS
It was first mentioned in 1270, and was more intensively populated in the 17th century by refugees from the Zadar hinterland. The parish church of St. Thomas was first mentioned in a document from 1404. It was built thanks to a testamentary donation from a Zadar nobleman. This single-nave building with a sacristy has three marble altars. On the main altar is the tabernacle and a painting of Our Lady. The side altars of Our Lady of Mount Carmel with a statue and the altar of St. Thomas with an altarpiece.
BEACHES
In addition to their cultural heritage, the people of Dobropoljana are proud of their peaceful beach in the town. A small sandy beach, and later a large pebble beach. The cafes that surround it will attract you with their appearance to various cocktails and a dream vacation.
OTHER CONTENT
Dobropoljana is becoming an increasingly well-known destination for cultural societies. The international folklore festival hosts more and more domestic and foreign cultural societies and associations every year. A photo workshop is also organized in the summer, and the biggest festival is the celebration of the patron saint of the town, St. Thomas (July 3). In July, don't miss the gastronomic event Dobropoljanski gušti. When fishing tradition and hard work come together in one place, a good result is inevitable. The smells and tastes of Pašman will encourage anyone to visit the Zrinski restaurant.
SPORT
A visit does not have to be limited to just touring its waves and beaches. An island that allows you to cross it length and breadth, on bike paths or on foot. Dobropoljana is the birthplace of our famous basketball player Krešimir Ćosić, in whose honor a basketball tournament is held every summer. In July, a five-a-side football tournament is also held, which always ends with a great concert.
