BASIC INFORMATION AND LOCATION
Supetarska Draga is a village and port on the northwestern coast of the island of Rab. The village has a little over 1000 inhabitants and is divided into Supetarska Draga Gornja and Donja. Supetarska Draga can be reached by car by driving to the Stinica pier, which is 5 kilometers from Jablanac near Senj. From Stinica, you can then take a ferry to the Rab pier Mišnjak, which is 16 kilometers from Supetarska Draga. Another option is to arrive at the Krk pier Valbiska after crossing the Krk Bridge. From Valbiska, you can take a ferry to the Rab pier Lopar, which is 6 kilometers from Supetarska Draga. Arrivals by plane are scheduled for Rijeka Airport near Omišalj on the island of Krk. The nearest train station is in Rijeka, which is a little over 120 kilometers from Supetarska Draga. From Rijeka, you must then change to a bus that runs from the Žabica station to the town of Rab. A catamaran from the port of Rijeka is also an option for arrival. The catamaran sails to the port in the town of Rab, which is the closest port for ships to arrive. After arriving by bus or catamaran to the town of Rab, take a local bus line to Supetarska Draga, which is 7 kilometers away.
CULTURE, HISTORY AND ATTRACTIONS
Archaeological findings indicate that some buildings and objects existed in Supetarska Draga in ancient times and that an early Christian basilica was probably located there later. The emergence of the settlement during the Middle Ages is linked to the founding of the former Benedictine monastery. Next to the place where the monastery once stood today stands the church of St. Peter, which was built in 1059. It is the oldest church on the island and was built as a three-nave basilica. The church is very famous because it is one of the best preserved Romanesque buildings on the eastern Adriatic coast. The church also has a Gothic bell tower built in 1299. Another sight to visit is the ruins of an old water mill that was used for centuries to supply the town with water.
BEACHES
In Supetarska Draga Donja there are beautiful beaches Dumici and Gonar which are sandy coves, and in its western part very beautiful sandy coves can be found on three small islands Maman, Sridnjak and Šailovac. Some smaller beaches also have the nearby peninsula Gonar. In Supetarska Draga Gornja there are mainly rocky beaches.
OTHER CONTENT
Top-quality delicacies can be tasted in the restaurants Gonar, Belveder, Antonius, Vojko, More, Premijer, Gurman and Galeb. Enjoying drinks on the terraces is provided by the nearby coffee bars Time, Porto, Delicato, Rafaella, Celestina and Municipium, and the center of nightlife is the town of Rab, only 7 kilometers away. The central event in Supetarska Draga is the feast of St. Peter and Paul at the end of June, when an entertainment program is organized. The rest of the summer season is reserved for various concerts and fishermen's festivals.
SPORT
Supetarska Draga is one of the favorite centers for sailors due to its maritime tradition. In Supetarska Draga there is the AquaSport diving center where you can rent diving equipment or take a diving course for beginners. The surrounding area is full of cycling and hiking trails, and there is a large selection of sports equipment for rent at all major beaches.
WHAT TO DO – EXCURSION OPPORTUNITIES
A nearby great destination for a nature trip is the Dundovo Forest Park on the Kalifront Peninsula, and a little further away, Kamenjak Hill offers great opportunities for hiking and enjoying the unique vegetation. It is little known that Supetarska Draga is a habitat for many birds and a wintering ground for many migratory birds, so a very nice excursion can be made while touring the surrounding nature. Longer trips are made from the town of Rab, from where you can take a boat trip to see the island of Rab and the surrounding islands. Visitors who want to travel to longer destinations are recommended to go to the national parks of Plitvice Lakes, Northern Velebit or Paklenica.

In Supetarska Draga, the accommodation offer is limited to a large selection of private apartments. The nearest campsites are also located in Lopar: AC San Marino and AC Zidine. ACI Supetarska Draga is a beautiful marina located directly in nature next to a small fishing village and offers a unique atmosphere to every visitor. Another marina whose parts are located very close to Supetarska Draga is ACI Rab.
