Diamond Beach Restaurant & Bar is located right on Tepluš Beach in Rukavac and has a distinctly different character during the day and evening. During the day, it serves as a place to enjoy drinks or lunch straight from the beach, while in the evening, the terrace transforms into a pleasant dining spot by the sea, with wine and views of the boats in the bay.
The location is its greatest advantage. The tables are practically by the sea, and the restaurant offers views across the bay towards the open part of Rukavac. If you spend the day at Tepluš, there is no need to plan a separate trip for lunch – just a few steps from the beach will suffice. Srebrna Beach is also very close, making Diamond Beach a convenient stop after swimming in that area.
What to Eat at Diamond Beach?
The menu primarily focuses on fish, seafood, and grilled dishes. If you are coming for a proper lunch or dinner, it is worth checking what fresh fish is available that day.
Regular menu items include white fish from the grill, tuna, swordfish, sea bass, squid, and shrimp, and for starters, you can choose octopus salad, marinated or salted anchovies, or smoked tuna or swordfish.
The offerings are not exclusively fish-based. They also serve ribeye steak, lamb chops, chicken, and ćevapi, making Diamond Beach practical for groups where not everyone may want fish.
During the day, the selection is somewhat more casual. Salads, fish burgers, and simpler dishes are suitable for a lunch between swims, while in the evening, it makes more sense to order fish or meat from the grill and enjoy a longer stay with wine.
Beach Bar During the Day
Diamond Beach is actually more than just a classic restaurant. During the day, it operates as a beach bar by Tepluš, allowing visitors to come for coffee, cold drinks, or cocktails without needing a full meal.
Sun loungers and umbrellas are available on the beach, and SUP boards and kayaks can also be rented. This makes it convenient for a full day at Tepluš – swimming in the morning, lunch later, and then back to the beach without moving the car.
In the evening, the atmosphere changes. Music and lighting create a more lounge-like vibe, making dinner a different experience from a daytime lunch in swimwear.
Parking and Arrival by Car
To reach Diamond Beach, you travel through Rukavac towards Tepluš Beach. The final part of the approach leads towards the sea, and guest parking is available near the restaurant.
Do not expect a large paved parking lot right next to the tables, but you can park very close and then walk a short distance. This is considerably more practical than many other restaurants and beaches on Vis that require a longer walk after parking.
During July and August, keep in mind that the same parking area is used by beachgoers visiting Tepluš. If you plan to dine during peak hours, arriving a bit earlier can make finding a spot easier.
If you are staying in Rukavac, a car is often not necessary. The restaurant can be comfortably reached on foot from most parts of the settlement.
Arrival by Boat
Diamond Beach is also appealing to sailors. In the bay in front of the restaurant, there are moorings for smaller vessels, and there is a short access path from the mooring to the restaurant.
If you plan to arrive by boat, it is best to check for available moorings in advance, especially during the main season. Despite the sheltered nature of the bay, it is advisable to check the weather forecast before arrival, as the entire area of Rukavac is on the southern side of Vis and conditions can change with stronger southern winds.
Important – Cash Payment Only
One practical detail to know before ordering is that Diamond Beach does not accept credit or debit cards. Payment is in cash.
If you forget this, there is no need to return to Rukavac or Vis, as an ATM is available at the establishment. However, it is simpler to bring enough cash, especially if you plan to have lunch or dinner for multiple people.
When to Visit?
The restaurant operates daily from 11:00 to 22:00 during the season. Lunch is served approximately from 12:00 to 17:30, and the evening menu starts from 18:30.
For a more relaxed visit, lunch after swimming at Tepluš is ideal. If you prefer a nicer table by the sea and a quieter atmosphere, the evening is a better choice. Reservations for dinner during the main season are advisable, especially if you want a table close to the sea.
Diamond Beach is well-suited for those who do not want to choose between a beach bar and a restaurant. During the day, it can be a simple place for lunch in swimwear and a cold drink after the sea, while in the evening, it offers a decent option for fish or grilled meat with views of Rukavac Bay. If you are staying in Rukavac or spending the day at Tepluš and Srebrna, it is hard to find a more practical location that combines beach, food, and evening drinks.
