Certainly one of Pula's best bars, Caffe bar Circolo 17 impresses immediately on approach as you pass through a huge stone arch built into ancient city walls to access the venue. Inside is no less impressive, with the indoor bar full of a young and vibrant crowd during cooler months and a wonderful terrace area, with a great view, which is packed and vibey in the warmer months. Drinks are first-rate, whether it be coffee, craft beers like super cold pale ales and spirits and cocktails, as is the speedy service. Bar owner David used to work for Istria's superb Trapan winemakers and picked up a thing or two while there. Now he makes his own including the bar's house wine and a fine Malvazija which nestles on the menu alongside a fantastic list of its Croatian peers. Hosting music events throughout the year, at larger city events, such as Pula Film Festival, the bar's outdoor partying area expands greatly to host hundreds of partygoers at DJ-lead nights or seated audiences at live music concerts.
