The church of St. George on Trsat has a long history dating back to the 13th century, when it was founded. The church of St. George the Martyr was erected by the princes of Frankopan from Krk, who were given Trsat to rule in 1223 by the King Andrew. Throughout the centuries, the church is still the parish church of Trsat, which is dedicated to the patron saint of Trsat.
