The original church in its place was built according to the tradition of 1291 as a vow during the plague. In one of the castles is the church of St. Sebastian.A memorial inscription is carved above the front door to indicate that it was built "in the glory of God and Divine Sebastian" in the time of Gastald Ivan Dotić in 1562 (ad laudem Dei divique Sebastiani fraternitas fieri fecit tempore Joannis Dotich Castaldi 1562). Gastaldi Sebastian was a prominent patrician from the Frankovic, Gladic and Stemberger families. On several occasions there were attempts to demolish the church, which was prevented by the citizensžtž. After the removal of the ruins behind the foundations of that church, a late antique wall from the 4th century was discovered, secondary to the sacristy and the conclusion of the shrine. Last time the church of st. Sebastian was rebuilt in 1885, when it was generally restored to the present-day appearance by the design of G. Paulinich, inspired by the front of the Congregational Church. The church was renovated and painted in 1986.
