Marina Martinis Marchi in Maslinica – berths, services, and arrival by boat
Marina Martinis Marchi is located in the sheltered bay of Maslinica, directly in front of the historic Martinis Marchi castle. It is a small, well-maintained marina designed for sailing boats, motorboats, and larger yachts. Due to its position on the western side of Šolta, it is often used as a stopover on routes between Split, Trogir, Vis, Hvar, and other central Dalmatian islands.
The marina is part of a complex that includes a heritage hotel, restaurant, and waterfront area. Although the ambiance is more elegant than a typical island harbor, the marina is practically in the center of Maslinica, making shops, cafes, restaurants, and the waterfront promenade accessible on foot.
How many berths does Marina Martinis Marchi have?
The marina has 50 fully equipped berths. Each berth is equipped with electricity and drinking water connections, and mooring is done using mooring lines.
Within the protected part of the marina, vessels up to approximately 40 meters in length can be moored. Larger yachts can be accommodated on the outer side of the breakwater, where official information indicates the possibility of accepting vessels up to 80 meters in length. The maximum stated draft is 12 meters, but the actual depth of each berth depends on its location within the marina, so prior arrangements are necessary for larger yachts.
For catamarans, wider vessels, and larger yachts, reservations are particularly important as not every berth is suitable for every width and length of vessel.
Equipment and services at the marina
The following services are available at the berths:
- electricity
- drinking water connection
- sanitary facilities and showers
- Wi-Fi
- video surveillance
- reception and assistance with mooring
Electrical connections are available in the range of 16 to 125 A, making the marina suitable for larger motor yachts with higher energy needs. The marina operates year-round, while the restaurant, hotel, café, and some additional facilities mainly operate seasonally.
Next to the marina, there is a stone waterfront with a small amphitheater where concerts, performances, and other events can be held during the season. Nearby are Restaurant Martinis Marchi and a café, with several other restaurants located a few minutes away in the center of Maslinica.
Entering Maslinica and accessing the marina
Maslinica is located on the western coast of Šolta, opposite a group of seven islets. When approaching, it is necessary to follow official nautical charts and be cautious of shallows and rocks between the coast and the islets.
Particular attention should be paid to the shallows between the islets Polebrnjak and Saskinja and between Saskinja and the Šolta coast. Nautical sources also warn of the Kamičić rock and the shallow area extending west and southwest of the harbor.
The marina uses VHF channel 17. Before entering, it is advisable to contact the reception, confirm the reservation, and wait for instructions from the staff regarding the exact mooring location.
During the main season, it is not advisable to enter without prior notice and assume that a free berth will be available, especially in the late afternoon when a larger number of boats arrive in Maslinica.
Protection from wind and waves
Maslinica is a naturally sheltered bay, and the marina's breakwater provides additional protection. Inner berths are generally calmer than the outer side of the breakwater, which is more exposed to the sea and weather conditions.
Despite the good protection, it is advisable to check the weather forecast before arrival, especially with stronger west and southwest winds. A berth on the outer side of the breakwater is not the same as a berth within the basin, so for larger vessels, safety and positioning should be arranged directly with the marina.
Does the marina have a fuel station?
The official list of services at Marina Martinis Marchi does not include a fuel station. The nearest island fuel station is located in Rogač, near the ferry port on the eastern side of Šolta.
Therefore, it is best to refuel before arrival or include a trip to Rogač in your travel plans. Before departure, it is advisable to check the current operating hours of the station, as they may vary depending on the season.
Berth prices and reservations
The price of a daily berth depends on the overall length of the vessel, the duration of stay, and the mooring location. The marina publishes a separate price list for daily berths and temporary stays, with prices varying by season. The current price list is available on the marina's official website:
https://www.martinis-marchi.com/marina
For an accurate amount, it is necessary to provide:
- overall length of the vessel
- width and draft
- type of vessel
- date and expected time of arrival
- number of overnight stays
- special requirements for electricity
Reservations are recommended throughout the summer, and for July and August, they are practically mandatory. Catamarans, motor yachts, and all vessels requiring a stronger electrical connection should be announced in advance.
Location in relation to Maslinica
One of the main advantages of the marina is its proximity to the old town core of Maslinica. It is just a few minutes' walk from the berths to the waterfront promenade, restaurants, fast food outlets, cafés, and a small shop.
Punta Beach, also known as Maslinica Beach, is located west of the town center and is accessible via a pleasant walk along the coast. The Šešula bay, with the restaurants Šišmiš and Konoba Šešula, is located south of Maslinica and can be visited on foot or by boat.
In front of Maslinica, there are seven islets that are a recognizable part of the view from the harbor and a popular area for a short kayaking or small boat trip.
Arrival by land
Maslinica can be reached by car from Rogač, the main ferry port on Šolta. The drive through Grohote and Donje Selo takes approximately 15 minutes. The ferry ride from Split to Rogač takes about one hour.
The marina is located next to the Martinis Marchi castle, at Put sv. Nikole 51. The access through Maslinica can be narrow in places, so it is advisable to drive slowly and watch for pedestrians, especially during the main season.
Guests arriving by land should check parking availability in advance, as the area immediately next to the castle and marina does not have a large public parking lot.
Who is Marina Martinis Marchi most suitable for?
Marina Martinis Marchi is a good choice for sailors who want:
- a safe and well-maintained berth in the western part of Šolta
- water and electricity connections
- a berth for a larger sailing or motor yacht
- a restaurant and other facilities right next to the berth
- a quieter location than large city marinas
- a starting point for Vis, Hvar, Split, and Trogir
It is less suitable for crews that require a fuel station or a large service center for more complex repairs at every stop.
The greatest advantage of the marina is the combination of a secure berth and its location in the town itself. After mooring, there is no need for a car or taxi – Maslinica, restaurants, the promenade, and the historic castle are immediately by the waterfront.
