Supetar Beach in Nečujam – the main beach commonly referred to as Nečujam Beach

Supetar Beach is situated in the heart of Nečujam, at the end of a large bay, in front of the main apartment complex and along the coastal promenade. It can be found on maps under the name Beach Supetar, but among visitors and in everyday conversation, it is more often simply called Nečujam Beach or the main beach. Supetar is actually the local name for this smaller bay within Nečujam and should not be confused with the town of Supetar on the island of Brač. The center of the village, a shop, a bus stop, and most dining options are just a few minutes' walk from the shore.

This is the largest and most developed bathing area in Nečujam, and during the summer, it is where the most people gather. The beach stretches along the wide central part of the bay and is not made up of just one short pebbly stretch. Alongside the main area, there are smaller pebbly sections, concrete platforms, piers, and parts of the coastal promenade from which one can also enter the sea. However, most families settle on the pebbly section in front of the apartment complex as the entry into the sea is the easiest there.

The shore is covered with fine to medium-sized pebbles, and the entry into the sea is generally gradual. There are some rocky areas in the shallows, but there is no sudden drop into deep water as found in some rocky parts of Šolta. This makes it one of the more practical beaches on the island for families with young children and less confident swimmers. The sea in the inner part of the bay is calm for most of the summer, although waves can appear after a strong northern wind.

The beach is accessible by car via an asphalt road through Nečujam. The access is straightforward and does not involve unpaved roads, but during the peak season, it is not advisable to expect a free parking spot right by the sea. Parking is available on public areas and along the access streets above the beach, while some spots belong to apartments and nearby establishments. In July and August, it is best to arrive early in the morning or to park further up in the village and walk down to the beach. A car is generally not necessary for most accommodations in the central part of Nečujam.

There is some shade from trees, palms, and greenery along the promenade, but not enough for all bathers. The majority of the pebbly area remains in the sun during the day, and spots in natural shade are quickly taken. For a full day stay, it is advisable to bring your own umbrella, especially if visiting with children.

Unlike smaller beaches in Tiha, Podkamenica, or Šumpjivina, it is not necessary to bring everything with you here. Nearby, there are cafes, simpler food options, a shop, and other seasonal facilities. Phil’s Beach Bar is located right by the beach and is convenient for coffee, cold drinks, pizza, burgers, or a simple meal after swimming. Showers, changing cabins, public toilets, a children's playground, and rental of sun loungers and umbrellas may be available on the beach or along the promenade during certain seasons, but the range of services can vary from year to year.

Adjacent to the beach is the area of a former pool complex, which older guests still recognize as part of this area of Nečujam. The condition of the pools and how they are used can vary each season, so they should not be considered a guaranteed facility. For swimming, the large pebbly beach in front of them and the possibility of combining sea, food, drinks, and other amenities in one place are more important.

Supetar Beach is neither hidden nor particularly quiet. During the peak of summer, it can be crowded, with music and children's games, especially around midday. However, for guests staying in Nečujam, it is the simplest choice: it is centrally located, easily accessible, the sea is sheltered, the entry is gentle, and everything needed is close by. Those seeking a more secluded beach should head towards Tiha, Sabina, Podkamenica, or Šumpjivina, while Nečujam Beach is better for those who prioritize convenience.
