Lučice Beach | The Most Recognized Swimming Bay Near Milna

Lučice Beach is located approximately 2 kilometers southwest of the center of Milna and is one of the most well-known bays on the western side of Brač. Nestled deep in a naturally protected bay surrounded by pine forests and rocky shores, it is often considered one of the most beautiful swimming spots in the vicinity of Milna.

Upon arrival, the color of the sea is immediately noticeable. The bay is famous for its exceptionally clean and clear waters, which take on light turquoise shades due to the sandy-pebbly bottom in the shallow areas. The gradual entry into the sea makes the beach suitable for families with children, as well as for those who enjoy longer swims along the coast.

The central part of the beach is covered with fine pebbles, while the edges of the bay feature paved concrete areas for sunbathing and rocks from which one can enter the water. The pine forest extends almost to the shore, making it easy to find natural shade for much of the day, which is a significant advantage during the summer months.

Unlike many hidden bays on Brač, Lučice is accessible via an asphalt road. There are several parking areas nearby, but during July and August, spaces fill up quickly, so it is advisable to arrive early in the morning or in the evening.

The bay is not only a swimming area but also one of the important nautical anchorages near Milna. During the summer, sailing boats and motor yachts can often be seen in the bay, drawn here by the good protection from the wind and calm waters. Despite this, there remains ample space for bathers, so the bay does not feel overcrowded like some more popular beaches on the island.

Along the shore, there are several hospitality establishments where cold drinks, coffee, ice cream, fish dishes, and light summer meals can be ordered. Many visitors spend the entire day here due to this combination of amenities without needing to return to Milna.

Lučice is particularly attractive in the late afternoon when the sun slowly sets toward the open sea. At this time, the sea takes on intense blue shades, and the entire bay becomes quieter after some of the daytime visitors have left.
