Lučice Beach | The Most Recognised Swimming Bay Near Milna
Lučice Beach is located approximately 2 kilometres south-west of the centre of Milna and is one of the most well-known bays on the western side of Brač. Nestled deep within a naturally protected cove surrounded by pine forests and rocky shores, it is often regarded as one of the most beautiful swimming spots in the vicinity of Milna.
Upon arrival, the first thing that catches the eye is the colour of the sea. The bay is renowned for its exceptionally clear and transparent waters, which take on bright turquoise hues due to the sandy-pebbly bottom in the shallower areas. The gentle entry into the water makes the beach suitable for families with children, as well as for those who enjoy longer swims along the coast.
The central part of the beach is covered with fine pebbles, while the edges of the cove feature well-maintained concrete sunbathing areas and rocks from which one can enter the water. The pine forest extends almost to the shore, making it easy to find natural shade for much of the day, which is a significant advantage during the summer months.
Unlike many hidden bays on Brač, Lučice is accessible via an asphalt road. There are several parking areas nearby, but during July and August, spaces fill up quickly, so it is advisable to arrive early in the morning or in the evening.
The bay is not only a bathing spot but also one of the more important nautical anchorages around Milna. During the summer, it is common to see sailing boats and motor yachts in the bay, drawn here by the good protection from the wind and calm waters. Despite this, there remains ample space for bathers, so the bay does not feel overcrowded like some of the more popular beaches on the island.
Along the shore, there are several hospitality establishments where one can order cold drinks, coffee, ice cream, fish dishes, and light summer meals. Many visitors spend the entire day here due to this combination of amenities, without the need to return to Milna.
Lučice is particularly appealing in the late afternoon when the sun slowly descends towards the open sea. At this time, the water takes on intense blue shades, and the entire bay becomes quieter after some of the daytime visitors have left.
If you are looking for a well-maintained beach with natural shade, clean waters, and easy access by car, Lučice is among the best choices in the vicinity of Milna and is one of the bays that many Brač visitors regularly include among their favourite beaches.
