Milna Summer Heart | A Summer Filled with Tradition, Music, and Island Events

Milna Summer Heart is the central summer event program in Milna that transforms the town into one of the liveliest cultural and entertainment centers on Brač every year from June to September. The event combines concerts, traditional fairs, sports competitions, gastronomic evenings, children's programs, and cultural events, bringing together locals, sailors, and visitors from across Croatia and abroad.

The name of the event is not coincidental. Milna Summer Heart symbolizes a place where tradition, maritime heritage, and contemporary tourist life meet during the summer. The program is not only held in Milna but also includes Ložišća, Bobovišća, and other settlements in the Municipality of Milna, making the entire area a large outdoor stage during the summer.

Each year, the program features more than sixty different events. Among the most notable are the traditional Fair of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on July 16, Mrduja Fest, the legendary Tug of War between Brač and Šolta, the Kalaton sports race through the stone streets of Milna, as well as numerous fishing evenings, klapa performances, and concerts by well-known Croatian artists.

Gastronomic events hold a special place, promoting island cuisine and local products. Visitors have the opportunity to taste traditional Brač delicacies such as Hrapoćuša, Brač cake, and Milna cake, as well as various local specialties prepared according to old island recipes.

The musical aspect of the program is equally important. Throughout the summer, klapas, local musicians, and well-known names from the Croatian music scene perform in Milna. Concerts are most often held on the waterfront or in squares by the sea, creating a unique Mediterranean atmosphere that has made the event recognizable.

For sports enthusiasts, there are futsal tournaments, sailing events, recreational races, and other activities that further enrich the summer program. The most famous among them is Kalaton, a race through the narrow stone streets of Milna that has attracted an increasing number of competitors and spectators in recent years.

What distinguishes Milna Summer Heart from many other summer events on the Adriatic is the fact that it is not a single event but a program that lasts all summer. Almost every week brings a new event, allowing visitors to experience a different side of Milna throughout the season – from traditional folk festivals and maritime customs to modern concerts and cultural programs.

For many guests, Milna Summer Heart is the best way to get to know the town. Through music, gastronomy, sports, and local customs, the authentic character of Milna, one of the most renowned maritime towns on the island of Brač, is revealed.
