Luka Beach in Pučišća | A Cove Accessible by macadam road

Luka Beach, or Luka as marked on Google Maps, is situated east of the center of Pučišća, in a deep cove between Pučišća and Povlja. This is not a typical city beach but a large cove reached by a dirt road, which keeps the area quieter than the beaches along the promenade and the town center. The final part of the road is uneven and dusty, requiring slower driving, especially in summer when vehicles pass each other on the narrow section above the sea. Due to this road, many people initially think they are on the wrong path, but the cove opens up just before reaching the bottom.

The sea in the cove is almost always calm as Luka is quite enclosed and well-protected from the wind. The beach consists of a mix of pebbles, rocky areas, and smaller concrete surfaces near the restaurants and boat moorings. The water is very clean and clear, and due to the deep cove, there are no large waves even when stronger winds blow offshore.

Within the cove, there are Restaurant Pipo and Restaurant Rojen - Rade, so many people spend the entire day here without returning to Pučišća. Pipo is located closer to the beach and is known for its fish, shellfish, lamb, and large terrace by the sea, while Rojen is somewhat quieter and has more of a family tavern atmosphere. Both restaurants offer the option to moor a small boat or arrive directly by boat from the cove of Pučišća.

Luka is not a developed tourist beach with many amenities, sun loungers, and beach bars. People generally come here for peace, swimming, and spending the whole day by the sea without large crowds. The cove is particularly pleasant in the evening when the sun sets behind the hills and the entire area remains shaded.

Parking is available along the dirt road and near the restaurants, but the number of spaces is limited, so during July and August, it can fill up quite early in the day. Some visitors also arrive by boat as the cove is well-protected and suitable for anchoring.

Luka Beach feels more like a small local cove for swimming and dining by the sea rather than a classic tourist beach. Because of this, it retains a more relaxed atmosphere compared to the more popular beaches on Brač.
