If the excursion includes the Blue Cave, Mezuporat is one of the main stops, so no special transportation needs to be arranged to reach the café.

The regular ferry line connects Komiža, Mezuporat, Salbunara, and Porat, allowing for a longer stay on the island.
This plan is much more interesting than coming solely for the Blue Cave.
You can first arrive in Mezuporat, visit the cave, take a short break at The Blue Cave Caffe, and then continue to other parts of the island.
The schedule changes according to the season, so it is advisable to check the time of the last return to Komiža before departure.
The Blue Cave Caffe Before or After the Blue Cave?

If there is waiting time before the tour, it is best to sit before entering the cave. This is practical for coffee, water, or a cold drink, especially after the morning boat ride from Komiža.
The other option is to stop after returning from the cave.
Then you can take a break and decide whether to return immediately to Komiža or continue exploring Biševo.
If several hours are available, the second option is much better.
After the Blue Cave, It Is Worth Continuing to Porat
One of the most common mistakes during a visit to Biševo is to arrive in Mezuporat, see the Blue Cave, and immediately return to Vis.
The cave itself is the island's biggest attraction, but the visit lasts relatively briefly.
On the western side of Biševo, there is Porat, a large sandy cove with a long shallow area, natural shade, and dining options. A bit further north is the quieter sandy Salbunara or Sarbunora.
Thus, The Blue Cave Caffe can be a good starting or ending point in Mezuporat, but it is not a reason to limit the entire excursion to just this part of the island.

Is It Suitable for Families with Children?
Yes, primarily as a place to rest during waiting.
It is practical for parents to have a table and the option to buy water, juice, or a simple snack while waiting for the boat to the cave.
If you want proper swimming with children after the visit, Porat is a much better choice than Mezuporat due to its sandy beach and long shallow waters.
Biševo can thus be a very good family excursion if not just a short stop at the Blue Cave is planned.

For a longer lunch and swimming, it is better to continue towards Porat, while The Blue Cave Caffe is best as a quick and practical stop in Mezuporat during a visit to the Blue Cave.
