The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the oldest preserved church in Crikvenica and, with the former Pauline monastery in the immediate vicinity, represents the old town center. It was built in 1412 by Nicholas IV. Frankopan. There are many valuable paintings and statues in the church, among which is the image of Sv. Simon, the only surviving item from the old Parish Church of Sv. Simon and Jude Thaddeus, which burned down in a fire on Kotor in the 18th century.
