The parish of the Assumption of Mary in Rozat is the oldest church community in Rijeka dubrovačka. Its beginnings can be dated to the period between 1295 and 1321. The parish church is on the hill above Rožat. It was first mentioned in 1123, and Sabino Gundulic gave it as a gift to the Benedictines. The original building was expanded and rebuilt until the great earthquake of 1667, when it completely collapsed. A new church was built after the earthquake. The bell tower was built in 1894. Four bells, totaling 615 kg, were purchased, erected and blessed in 1923. The church was again thoroughly restored in 1930. Because of the shelling in the 1991 invasion, but also because of the "tooth of time", the church had to be rebuilt. It was renovated and renovated and the bells were electrified in 2004.
