BASIC INFORMATION AND LOCATION

Supetar is the tourist and administrative center of the island of Brač. It consists of the town of Supetar and the suburban settlements of Mirca, Splitska and Škrip. It has about 4000 inhabitants. It is located on the northern side of Brač, facing the mainland and the city of Split. Supetar is connected to Split by ferry. Ferries run every hour and a half to two hours in the season. The ride takes about an hour.

CULTURE, HISTORY AND ATTRACTIONS

Upetar was first mentioned in 1423 and was named after Saint Peter. Supetar is home to the famous mausoleum built by the famous architect and sculptor Toma Rosandić. It is also worth visiting the parish church of the Annunciation, which is located in the very center of the town. During the summer, the tourist board organizes the Supetar Summer with a series of plays, concerts and other events that may be interesting to tourists.

BEACHES

Supetar is very suitable for swimming and sunbathing. The beaches are located in the town itself, mostly pebble with concrete parts. All beaches have natural shade. There is also a sandy beach located in the Vela Luka bay. The most famous beaches in Supetar are Tri mosta, Banj, Vlačica, Akapulko, Vrilo and Vela Luka. On Banj beach there is a water slide as part of Benny's bar.

OTHER CONTENT

Supetar has a large waterfront with numerous restaurants and cafe bars. There are also several clubs where you can have fun. We will mention Roso bar, Paparazzo and Benny's bar. There is also an amusement park for children and numerous souvenir shops in the town. SPORTS In Supetar you can swim, sunbathe, ride a bike, play football, basketball and tennis. There are excellent bike paths around the town. On the Tri mosta beach you can rent a jet ski, banana boat and other water sports equipment. You can rent a bicycle, motorbike or car in several places.

WHAT TO DO AND EXCURSION OPPORTUNITIES

Supetar is only an hour's ferry ride from Split. From Split there is a huge offer of excursions to nearby national parks, nature parks and islands. From Supetar itself you can take a tourist boat on an excursion to nearby destinations and by car or bus to Bol and other places on Brač.

There are several hotels in Supetar where you can stay. These are Waterman Resort, Hotel Kaktus, Velaris Resort, Vila Britanida, Vila Adriatica, Hotel Osam. There is a large selection of rooms, apartments and holiday homes for family tourism. There is also a new modern campsite, Waterman Beach Village. Supetar has a small port where boats and yachts can be moored.
