Vedrana Beach (Kamenolom) – A Hidden Cove for Those Seeking Peace and Crystal-Clear Waters
Vedrana Beach, more commonly known among locals as Kamenolom, is one of the most beautiful natural coves in the vicinity of Bobovišća na Moru. Located away from the settlement and surrounded by pine trees, rocks, and unspoilt nature, it attracts visitors looking for tranquillity, clear waters, and an authentic Mediterranean atmosphere far from the more frequented beaches of Brač.
The first impression upon arrival is the colour of the sea. The turquoise and exceptionally clear water is one of the features most frequently highlighted by visitors, and due to the good visibility of the underwater world, the beach is quite popular among diving enthusiasts and those who enjoy snorkelling. The shoreline mainly consists of fine pebbles mixed with natural stone sections, and the depth of the sea increases gradually, making it pleasant for less experienced swimmers.
In contrast to the organised city beaches, Vedrana has retained its natural character. There are no large tourist facilities, sun loungers, or sports infrastructure here, which many guests consider to be its greatest advantage. Access to the beach is not possible by car. Vehicles must be left in available parking areas or widened spots along the access road, followed by a short walk to the cove. Due to this slightly more remote access, the beach never feels overcrowded, even during the peak of the summer season.
It is particularly pleasant during the morning hours when the sea is completely calm, and the only sounds you will hear come from nature and the nearby boats that occasionally dock in the cove. Because of the combination of natural shade from the pines, the clear sea, and the relaxed atmosphere, many consider it one of the hidden beaches of western Brač that have yet to lose their original character.
