Ložišća Climbing Canyon – one of the most notable spots for outdoor climbing on Brač

The Ložišća climbing canyon is among the most intriguing locations for outdoor climbing on the island of Brač. Situated near the village of Ložišća, between Milna and Bobovišća, this natural canyon is well-known among both local and international climbers for its quality limestone, well-equipped routes, and the unique ambience of the Dalmatian karst landscape.

The canyon features steep rock faces that rise above a narrow natural passage, creating an impressive landscape that is not commonly found on the Adriatic islands. Due to the terrain's configuration, the climbing site offers excellent conditions for climbing for much of the year, with certain sectors providing natural shade that is particularly appreciated during the warmer months.

There are dozens of sport routes of varying difficulty on the cliffs, making the location appealing to both beginners and experienced climbers. The routes are equipped with fixed anchors, and the quality of Brač's rock provides good friction and a variety of climbing challenges. Climbers can find technical slabs, vertical walls, and more demanding overhangs here.

In addition to climbing, visitors can enjoy the unspoilt nature and tranquil surroundings away from the tourist crowds. The view of the rocky cliffs, Mediterranean vegetation, and the traditional landscape of inland Brač makes this place attractive to nature lovers who may not necessarily come for climbing.

The canyon can be accessed via a local road from the direction of Ložišća, followed by a short walking path to the climbing area. There are no hospitality facilities or tourist infrastructure nearby, so it is advisable to bring sufficient water, especially during the summer months.

Thanks to the combination of natural beauty and quality climbing routes, the Ložišća climbing canyon is now regarded as one of the most prominent climbing sites on Brač. It offers visitors the chance for an active stay in nature and the opportunity to explore a lesser-known yet exceptionally attractive side of the island.
