AnDe Bistro & Bar – burgers, fish & chips and a relaxed dinner in Vis

AnDe Bistro & Bar is slightly set back from the coastal promenade, situated between the main part of Vis and Kut. It is not a traditional Dalmatian konoba or a restaurant primarily focused on whole fish and wine, but rather a more casual bistro offering simpler dishes such as burgers, fish & chips, squid and salads.

The location, away from the waterfront, gives it a different character compared to the restaurants along the quay. Tables are arranged along a quieter street, and it is particularly pleasant in the evening when this part of Vis fills with strollers, yet remains less hectic than the shoreline itself.

AnDe is a good choice when you want something substantial without the formality of a multi-course dinner – a burger, fried fish, squid or a salad, accompanied by a beer or a glass of wine.

Fish & chips – one of the signature dishes

Fish & chips is one of AnDe's main specialities and a dish closely associated with this bistro.

The concept is straightforward: pieces of fish in a crispy batter served with fried potatoes and sauce. This approach to fish is quite different from the traditional Dalmatian grilled fish, making it a welcome change after several days of konoba dining and traditional fish restaurants.

The fish selection may vary, but fish & chips remains one of the dishes that best encapsulates AnDe's character – simple, informal, and suitable for a quick lunch or dinner.

Burgers

Burgers form another important part of the menu. Classic cheeseburgers and other variations are prepared as a full meal, with the option to add fried potatoes.

Occasionally, fish burgers are also available, including options with salmon or fried white fish.

If someone at the table prefers not to have fish or seafood, burgers are the simplest alternative.

Squid and other seafood dishes

While AnDe is not a classic seafood restaurant, the marine section of the menu is not limited to fish & chips.

You can find grilled or fried squid, as well as other simpler fish combinations. The preparation is informal and without complicated sides, which fits well with the overall bistro concept.

This is a good choice for guests who want something from the sea but do not wish to order a whole fish or spend several hours in a traditional konoba.

A quieter location between Luka and Kut

AnDe is located on Viškog skupa Street, a little further from the first line by the sea.

It takes just a few minutes to reach the coastal promenade, and nearby is the summer cinema Hrid. This makes it convenient for dinner before or after a film, as well as a stop during a walk between Luka and Kut.

The advantage of the location is that there is no constant traffic and crowds typical of the most popular restaurants along the quay.

Outdoor seating

Tables are set outside along the street, giving the space a simple, almost neighbourhood character.

You do not come here for panoramic sea views or a luxuriously decorated terrace, but for the relaxed atmosphere and food that suits such an environment.

In the evening, when the daytime heat subsides, the outdoor area is the most pleasant place to sit.

Reservations

For smaller groups, reservations are often not necessary, but during July and August it is advisable to book if coming with a larger party or during the peak evening hours.

AnDe is a smaller bistro, so the number of tables is not comparable to the larger restaurants along the quay.

Parking

AnDe does not have a large private parking area adjacent to the establishment.

If you are already staying in the town of Vis, the easiest option is to walk. The distances from the main quay, Prirova and Kut are not great.

When arriving by car from the interior of the island, public parking spaces in the wider area should be used, and the last few minutes should be completed on foot.
