The Crikvenica City Museum is a public institution founded in 2007 by the City of Crikvenica. The museum made its first small steps in 2008 and since 2009 has been operating on the ground floor of the City Hall in Crikvenica.

The main tasks of the museum are to collect, document, protect, study and present the history of the town of Crikvenica and its surroundings, from prehistoric times to the present day.

His task is to study the past and take care of the objects that document it, as well as present it better to fellow citizens, residents of the area and guests of Crikvenica, and to enrich the cultural and tourist offer. This is a long and difficult task, especially because of the conditions in which the Museum started its operations, which is marked by the absence of any museum material. For these reasons, the Museum is not yet able to establish a permanent museum display that would show the historical development of Crikvenica and its surrounding places. This is one of the longer-term goals that we want to achieve in the coming period and give the Crikvenica region a rounded historical picture.
