Volosko is a small fishing and tourist town on the Riviera of Opatija located about 2 kilometers north of the center of Opatija. It was the most densely populated place Liburnian region, which was conducive to the development of its coastal feature. First time it was mentioned was already in 1543, and in the past has accommodated boats of all sizes and had the role of the port city of Kastav. In 1860, the town is politically and church-wise separated from the city of Kastav and became an independent municipality until 1932 when it became part of Opatija
