Mlaka Park, also known as Giardino Pubblico, is one of the oldest and most beautiful parks in Rijeka. It was designed in 1874 by Dr. Filibert Bazarig, according to the suggestions of Mayor Giovanni Ciotta, as a kind of border between the city center and the western suburbs, and the announcement of a historical nucleus to those coming from the city.Originally a spacious park irrigated with natural springs, it was once a favorite gathering place, today it occupies a smaller area due to the buildings that were built over time in its surroundings. Despite the downsizing, this park located near the train station is still a comfortable place to rest and walk.
