BASIC INFORMATION AND LOCATION
Just a few kilometers from Omiš, at the foot of the Mosor mountain, lies the town of Duće. Duće is a collection of small towns not far from Dugi Rat. They are Luka, Rogač, Vavlje, Golubnik, Glavica and Dočine. Old villages, stone houses, churches, olive fields and crowded beaches - all this is part of the rich tourist offer. Duće can be reached via Split, where the main bus and railway stations are located, and Resnik Airport is nearby. They are located on the Adriatic Highway (D8), which runs along the coast and connects Duće with the rest of Dalmatia.
CULTURE, HISTORY AND ATTRACTIONS
Numerous traces testify that Duće was once part of the famous Republic of Poljica. Today, this small tourist town offers numerous quality accommodation units, catering and recreational facilities. The proximity of Omiš and Split expands this offer with other cultural and entertainment facilities. Duće is connected to old villages in the hinterland, from where the offer of organically grown food and drinks also comes. Duće is home to the Church of Our Lady of Snow, and every year on August 5th there is a big festival in her name when the residents climb the Stomorica hill, where the small church of the same name is located, which got its name because the locals testified to a "miracle" when snow fell on that place one summer. In the old village of Duće there are also the churches of St. Anthony and St. Mark.
BEACHES
A beautiful sandy beach, surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation that provides natural shade, stretches 4 km along the entire town. This makes it suitable for families with small children, as well as those looking for sand and shallow sea. The beaches are Duće, Duće Luka and Duće Camp Beach.
OTHER CONTENT
Find gastronomic delights in the restaurants Dalmatia, Plaža and Croatia, in the bistros Val, Dinja, Victorian pub, pizzeria Gajeta or tavern Bracera.
SPORT
The possibilities for an active holiday are great! From sea and nautical activities to rafting on Cetina, hiking and free climbing, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking...
WHAT TO DO AND EXCURSION OPPORTUNITIES
Duće is interesting because of its proximity to Split, Omiš and Makarska. If you are coming by boat, there is a small port, but you need to be careful when entering due to the shallow water (up to 2 m). Agencies organize excursions to the surrounding towns of Split, Omiš, Trogir and Makarska. Nearby are the national parks Krka and Plitvice Lakes, the Biokovo Nature Park, the Cetina Canyon and numerous other possibilities. Dinopark in Omiš offers interesting activities for the youngest.
ACCOMMODATION
You can look for accommodation in numerous private units, in the Plaža Duće and Damiani hotels or, if you are a privateer, in the nearby camps Miroslav, Ivo or Darko.
