Marjan is the symbol of the town of Split. It is a hill, peninsula and a park forest located on the western part of the Split peninsula. Bene beach, one of the oldest beaches in Split, is located beneath Marjan.A ramp barrier will stop you from driving your car to the beach, so you would have to walk one part of the way or take the bus number 12 which drives from the town and passes the beach. More recently you can also take the small tourist train which passes by several times a day. There is a tower on the beach with experienced lifeguards watching over your safety. There is a sports center behind the beach where you can rent different sports prompts. During great heats, find a spot beneath the pine tree tops which will offer you the much needed shade. There is a coffee bar near the beach, as well as a food and drinks kiosk and a restaurant in which you can savor different Dalmatian specialties.
