The Galić Salon is the oldest exhibition space in Split. It is located in the heart of downtown Marmont Street. The Galić Salon opened on May 31, 1924 and was the only art salon in Split between the two world wars. Ivan Galic, the owner of the Art Salon, left the gallery to the Split artists, and after the death of Ivan Galic in 1961, the management of the Salon Galic was taken over by HULA Split, which has continuously operated the gallery for 54 years. The space is owned by the City of Split, and the space is ceded to HULU Split for management. Split, whose continuous exhibition activity has enriched Split's cultural life for over 90 years, In 2014 it was proclaimed a cultural property by the decision of the Directorate for Protection of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia.
