The monastery was built by the noble family Lisac from Dubrovnik, and the church of St. Jerome, by the Gradic family in 1420, as evidenced by a stone slab with a hex-meter inscription built on the front of the church. It talks about donors to the church, the Gradic family, Father Junia and sons Matthew and Marin. Archaeological excavations have found the remains of the first, much smaller church than today. The church was completed in 1461.The one-nave church with a rectangular shrine was rebuilt. The church nave is decorated with seven altars donated by well-known maritime salt marshes (Ohmučević, Tasovčići, etc.). The pillars were built by Paul Gradi in 1573.
