Graffiti na Gradele Bol | International Festival of Street Art, Murals, and Music

Graffiti na Gradele is one of the most recognized urban festivals in Croatia and an event that has made Bol notable among street art enthusiasts in recent years. The festival has been held in Bol on the island of Brač since 2012 and gathers graffiti artists, muralists, designers, illustrators, musicians, and visitors from Croatia and various European countries every summer. What began as a small gathering of graffiti lovers has grown into one of the most important urban culture festivals in the Adriatic.

The central part of the daily program takes place at the White House, a former hotel complex near Zlatni Rat, which transforms into a large open gallery during the festival. Over several days, artists paint the walls with new murals and graffiti works, allowing visitors to observe the entire process of creating artworks—from initial sketches to final details. Each year, new works are created, making every festival unique and leaving a lasting artistic mark in Bol.

In addition to mural painting, Graffiti na Gradele offers a rich daily program aimed at all generations. Drawing and painting workshops, lectures, exhibitions, skateboarding and BMX programs, sports competitions, artist meet-and-greets, and various educational activities for children and youth are organized. A large part of the daily program is completely free and open to all visitors.

The musical aspect of the festival is equally important as the visual program. Evening concerts, DJ performances, and parties featuring artists from Croatia and abroad take place. The program primarily focuses on hip-hop, electronic music, breakbeat, funk rhythms, and other urban music genres. In recent years, evening events have been held at the 585 Club, one of the most well-known open-air clubs on Brač.

A distinctive feature of the Graffiti na Gradele festival is its relaxed atmosphere. Instead of a traditional festival concept, the entire town of Bol becomes a meeting place for artists, musicians, skateboarders, photographers, and urban culture enthusiasts over several days. Visitors can freely converse with mural authors, observe their work, participate in workshops, or simply enjoy the music and summer atmosphere by the sea. This blend of art, beaches, and Mediterranean ambiance makes the festival unique in Croatia.

The festival attracts a large number of renowned domestic and international street art artists each year, transforming Bol into one of the most interesting urban culture destinations in the Adriatic during July. Numerous murals created during previous editions of the festival still adorn various parts of the town, representing a lasting artistic legacy of Graffiti na Gradele.

Festival locations are easily accessible on foot from the center of Bol. The White House area is located along the promenade towards Zlatni Rat beach, while the 585 Club is just a few minutes' walk away. Public parking is available nearby, and most visitors reach the festival on foot or by tourist train that operates between the center of Bol and Zlatni Rat.

If you visit Bol during the summer, Graffiti na Gradele is an event worth experiencing. The combination of high-quality murals, international artists, workshops, concerts, and a relaxed atmosphere by the sea makes this festival one of the most recognizable cultural events on the island of Brač.
