Kino Mediteran Bol | Summer Cinema Under the Stars and Year-Round Digital Cinema

Kino Mediteran Bol is one of the most beautiful cinemas on the Croatian coast and an integral part of the cultural life in Bol. Located at Ulica Vladimira Nazora 2, just a few minutes' walk from the Bol waterfront, it was the first digital cinema in the Kino Mediteran project, which has been revitalizing cinema culture in smaller Dalmatian towns since 2012. During the winter, screenings take place in a modern indoor cinema hall, while in the summer, the program moves to an attractive outdoor cinema, where visitors watch films under the starry sky in a unique Mediterranean setting.

The Kino Mediteran project was initiated by the Festival of Mediterranean Film Split with the aim of restoring quality film programming to towns that have been without a permanent cinema for years. Bol was one of the first towns included in the project, and thanks to successful digitalization, it now has modern DCP projection equipment that allows for the screening of the latest film titles in high-quality image and sound.

During the summer season, Kino Mediteran organizes outdoor screenings almost daily. The repertoire includes the latest global film hits, European and independent films, Croatian productions, and dubbed animated films for children. A special feature of the program is that most foreign films are shown in their original language with Croatian and English subtitles, allowing both local residents and numerous foreign guests vacationing in Bol to enjoy the screenings together.

In addition to the regular cinema program, Kino Mediteran hosts screenings as part of the Festival of Mediterranean Film Split (FMFS), themed film nights, and special guest appearances. This makes Bol one of the important film centers in Dalmatia during the summer, and watching a film under the open sky is a unique experience that many visitors highlight as one of the most beautiful moments of their holiday.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office, which opens one hour before the screening starts. The cinema is also part of the Kino Mediteran Loyalty Card program, which allows visitors to receive discounts on tickets and collect points for rewards.

Within the cinema, there is a small bar where popcorn, soft drinks, and other refreshments can be purchased during screenings, enhancing the experience of evening film viewing. The cinema features comfortable seating, and due to the open space and Mediterranean climate, screenings during July and August are particularly pleasant.

Kino Mediteran is just a few minutes' walk from any part of central Bol. Nearby, there are the Bol waterfront, numerous restaurants, cafes, and shops, so many visitors start their evening with dinner or a stroll before the film screening. Cars can be parked in public parking areas in central Bol, from where the cinema is easily accessible on foot.
