CULTURE, HISTORY AND ATTRACTIONS
Archaeological findings testify to life in the area of present-day Baška Voda around 4000 BC, and the main motive for settling this area was a source of drinking water. In ancient times, there was a settlement called Aronia on the site of Baška Voda. The name of the settlement was first mentioned in 1688. The first public building was the beautiful Baroque church of St. Lawrence, built in 1750. With the construction of the pier in 1912, Baška Voda became an important port in the area. Today, in addition to the church of St. Lawrence, you can visit the neo-Romanesque church of St. Nicholas from the 19th century.
