Brbavica Beach in Rogač – a small bathing area below the road, hidden from view from the port

Brbavica Beach is located on the northwestern edge of Rogač, away from the main part of the ferry port and further from the more well-known beaches of Banja and Luka Rogač. It is not encountered by chance while walking around the port, as it is situated below the coastal road in a small cove that is easily overlooked from above. It is recognizable by the painted concrete section beneath the road structure, a small pebbly shore, and rocks that enclose the bathing area on both sides.

The distance from the ferry terminal to Brbavica is approximately one kilometer, which takes about 15 minutes to walk. Although the beach is closer in a straight line, the road requires a detour around part of the cove and continues towards the northwestern coast of Rogač. It is about a ten-minute easy walk from Banja Beach. The path is not demanding, but part of it runs along a local road where there is not always a wide sidewalk.

By car, access is via an asphalt road leading from Rogač towards the western and northern parts of the settlement. Vehicles cannot be parked directly on the pebbles but must be left in available spots and widenings along the road above the beach. The last hundred to two hundred meters must be covered on foot. Specialized guides indicate that the asphalt approach and parking are about 200 meters from the shore, but this does not mean that the beach has a designated parking area solely for bathers.

During July and August, it is important to be cautious about where to park the car. Part of the space along the road is used by residents of nearby houses, and the passage must remain wide enough for other vehicles. It is advisable not to descend towards the shore before confirming where it is safe to park and turn around. The simplest way to reach Brbavica from accommodations in the western part of Rogač is on foot.

The main part of the beach consists of a small pebbly shore, with concrete surfaces and natural rocks continuing alongside it. It is not a wide beach that can accommodate many people. A few families can occupy a large portion of the pebbles, leaving other bathers to spread out on the rocky and concrete areas. Due to its limited capacity, Brbavica is most suitable for guests from nearby houses and those who arrive early in the morning.

Entry into the sea over the pebbles is generally straightforward, but there are boulders, stones, and uneven rocks at the bottom. Water shoes can be useful, especially for children and those who find walking on stones uncomfortable. The sea deepens more quickly along the rocky edges, while the small central area is more practical for gradual entry. The official description classifies the beach as having pebbly, concrete, and rocky sections.

One of the features of Brbavica is the shade provided by surrounding trees, rocks, and the road structure above part of the bathing area. The shade is not evenly distributed along the entire coast, but there is more than on completely open pebbly beaches in Rogač. The area beneath the road remains sheltered, while the pebbles and protruding rocks are exposed to the sun for most of the day. Natural shade is noted as one of Brbavica's characteristics in tourist sources.

There are no beach bars, restaurants, sunbed rentals, or organized sports facilities at the beach. Visitors should not expect public restrooms, changing cabins, or readily available showers. It is advisable to bring everything necessary for your stay, including water, food, and sun protection. The nearest larger dining options are located towards Banja Beach and the ferry port.

The sea is generally clean, but Brbavica is not a completely secluded natural cove. It is located next to the inhabited part of Rogač, below the road, and boats pass through the wider area entering and leaving the port. While swimming close to the shore, boat traffic is not a significant issue, but it is advisable not to venture unnecessarily into the more open sea.

Brbavica is not a beach for guests seeking sunbeds, cafes, and large spaces for children. It is more suitable for those who do not mind a small pebbly area, rocks, and simple bathing without facilities. Its advantages include natural shade, an interesting location below the road, and less crowding compared to Banja, while its main limitations are small capacity, modest access to the shore, and lack of tourist infrastructure.
