Brbavica Beach in Rogač – a small bathing area below the road, hidden from view from the harbour

Brbavica Beach is located on the north-western edge of Rogač, away from the main part of the ferry port and further from the more well-known beaches of Banja and Luka Rogač. It is not easily stumbled upon while walking around the harbour, as it is situated below the coastal road in a small cove that can easily be overlooked from above. It is identifiable by the painted concrete section beneath the road structure, a small pebble shore, and the rocks that flank the bathing area on both sides.

The distance from the ferry terminal to Brbavica is approximately one kilometre, which takes about 15 minutes to walk. Although the beach is closer in a straight line, the road requires a detour around part of the cove and continues towards the north-western coast of Rogač. It is roughly a ten-minute leisurely walk from Banja Beach. The path is not particularly demanding, but part of it runs along a local road where the pavement is not always wide.

Access by car is via an asphalt road leading from Rogač towards the western and northern parts of the settlement. Vehicles cannot be parked directly on the pebbles but must be left in available spaces and widenings along the road above the beach. From the parking area, it is a further 100 to 200 metres on foot. Specialist guides indicate that the asphalt approach and parking are about 200 metres from the shore, but this does not imply that the beach has a designated parking area solely for bathers.

During July and August, care should be taken regarding where to park. Part of the roadside space is used by residents of nearby houses, and access must remain wide enough for other vehicles. It is advisable not to descend towards the shore before confirming where it is safe to park and turn around. For those staying in the western part of Rogač, walking to Brbavica is the simplest option.

The main part of the beach consists of a small pebble shore, with concrete surfaces and natural rocks extending alongside it. It is not a wide beach that can accommodate many people. A few families can occupy a large portion of the pebbles, leaving other bathers to spread out over the rocky and concrete areas. Due to its limited capacity, Brbavica is most suited to guests from nearby houses and those who arrive early in the morning.

Entry into the sea over the pebbles is generally straightforward, but there are stones, rocks, and uneven surfaces at the bottom. Footwear suitable for the water can be beneficial, especially for children and those who find walking on stones uncomfortable. The sea deepens more quickly near the rocky edges, while the small central area is more practical for a gradual entry. The official description classifies the beach as a combination of pebbly, concrete, and rocky coastal sections.

One of Brbavica's unique features is the shade provided by the surrounding trees, rocks, and the road structure above part of the bathing area. The shade is not evenly distributed along the entire coast, but there is more of it than on completely open pebble beaches in Rogač. The area below the road remains sheltered, while the pebbles and protruding rocks are exposed to the sun for most of the day. Natural shade is noted as one of Brbavica's characteristics in tourist sources.

There are no beach bars, restaurants, sunbed rentals, or organised sports facilities at the beach. Visitors should not expect public toilets, changing cabins, or showers that are consistently available. It is advisable to bring everything needed for your stay, including water, food, and sun protection. The nearest larger dining options can be found towards Banja Beach and the ferry port.

The sea is generally clean, but Brbavica is not a completely secluded natural cove. It is located next to the inhabited part of Rogač, below the road, and boats pass through the wider area entering and leaving the harbour. While swimming close to the shore, boat traffic is not a significant issue, but it is advisable not to venture unnecessarily far into the more open sea.

Brbavica is not a beach for those seeking sunbeds, cafes, and large spaces for children. It is more suited to those who do not mind a small pebble area, rocks, and simple swimming without facilities. Its advantages include natural shade, an interesting location below the road, and less crowding compared to Banja, while its main limitations are its small capacity, modest access to the shore, and lack of tourist infrastructure.
