Bijaka Beach | The Best Family Beach in Milna

Bijaka Beach is located at the western entrance of Milna, nestled between Marina Vlaška and Cape Bijaka. Unlike many smaller natural coves in the area, Bijaka is a well-maintained public beach with a range of amenities, making it one of the most popular bathing spots in Milna, particularly for families with children.

The beach stretches several hundred metres along the coast and comprises a mix of pebbled sections, paved sunbathing areas, and rocky parts near Cape Bijaka. The water is exceptionally clear, and the shallow area features a sandy bottom, making it comfortable for the youngest swimmers to enter the sea. This combination of pebbles and sand is one reason many consider Bijaka to be the best family beach in Milna.

A significant advantage of the beach is the natural shade provided by the pine trees that extend almost to the water's edge, allowing visitors to easily find a spot away from the sun during the day. Additionally, showers, changing cabins, and sanitary facilities are available, which further enhances the convenience for a full day at the beach.

Bijaka is not just a place for swimming. Several catering establishments are located along the beach where visitors can order coffee, ice cream, cocktails, cold drinks, and meals by the sea. During the summer, the beach club and restaurant area are particularly popular, with many visitors spending the entire day here without needing to venture into the centre of Milna.

For those seeking more active pursuits, water sports facilities are also available. Throughout the season, various recreational activities can be found on the water, making the beach appealing to younger guests looking for more than just sunbathing and swimming.

A distinctive part of the beach is Cape Bijaka, the western end of the cove where the well-maintained beach gradually transitions into a natural rocky coastline. This area is often chosen by swimmers and diving enthusiasts due to the very clear water and open views towards Šolta and the entrance to Milna harbour.

The beach can be reached from the centre of Milna within a pleasant ten-minute walk along the coast. Nearby parking and accommodation options make access straightforward for those arriving by car.

Bijaka is one of the few beaches in Milna that successfully combines well-developed infrastructure, natural shade, catering options, and quality bathing facilities. For this reason, it has remained a top choice for families with children for many years, as well as for anyone wishing to spend an entire day by the sea without sacrificing essential amenities.
