Vela Luka Beach – a spacious beach for a pleasant stay

The beach or cove of Vela Luka is located at the very western end of the town of Supetar, towards the village of Mirca. The beach consists of two coves, Vela Luka and Mala Luka. Locals also call the cove Pliva, because for years it was the resort of the Zagreb Pliva factory.

There is sand on the seabed of the entire bay, and it is extremely suitable for children and playing with a ball in the sea. Vela Luka beach consists of a gravel part, a landscaped concrete plateau and rocky parts.

The beach has recently been paved, new showers have been installed, and disabled access has been made. Today, instead of a resort, there is a modern hotel near the beach.

Beach visitors have numerous facilities at their disposal, they can play table tennis, boules or five-a-side football. There are services for renting deck chairs and umbrellas, and there are fast food and a cafe on the beach. There used to be a dense pine forest near the beach, which is now thinned out, but you can still find a place in the shade.

There is a promenade along the beach that leads across the Supetar beaches (in order: Vela Luka, Bili rat, Tri mosta, Banj and Vlačica) to the very center of the town.

There is accommodation in Supetar nearby, including apartments and holiday homes, making this location convenient for tourists.
