The beach is not particularly wide, so the sense of space can vary significantly depending on the number of people present. In the morning and outside the main season, it often feels almost private, while during July and August, it can fill up quickly. However, large groups or visitors with a lot of equipment typically do not come here; rather, it attracts those staying in the nearby streets who wish to swim without heading to a larger beach.

There are no organised sunbathing terraces or levelled areas on the beach. A thicker mat is advisable for longer lounging, and one should choose a spot that does not obstruct access for boats and houses along the coast.

Entry into the Sea

The easiest entry into the sea is via the pebbly section of the beach. Along the shore, there are pebbles, stones, and occasionally larger flat rocks, so water shoes may be beneficial for more sensitive swimmers and children.

The water is shallow near the shore, but the seabed is not entirely flat everywhere. In some places, larger stone slabs lie just beneath the surface, so it is best to enter slowly and first check where to step. When the sea is calm, the water is very clear, and the rocky bottom is easily visible from the shore.

Pol Cimprijanovo is well-suited for a quick morning or evening swim. For longer swimming sessions, one should be mindful of small boats and vessels entering the Komiža harbour. It is safest to stay closer to the shore and not swim towards the navigable part of the harbour.

There are no trees or reliable natural shade directly on the beach. Part of the beach may fall into the shadow of the surrounding houses during the day, but this cannot be relied upon for all-day sun protection.

The most pleasant time to arrive is early in the morning when the beach is calm and the sun is not yet strong. In the later hours, the open part of the shore remains exposed to the sun, so for a longer stay, it is advisable to bring your own sun protection. Due to the limited space, a large parasol is not always practical, especially when the beach is busier.

In the evening, people come here for one last swim before dinner or a stroll along the promenade. At this time, the old stone facades, boats, and the view across Komiža harbour create one of the more beautiful, unobtrusive scenes in this part of the town.

How to Get to Pol Cimprijanovo from Central Komiža

From the central promenade, head north through the old part of Komiža and the narrow streets leading to Gusarica. Pol Cimprijanovo is located before the large Gusarica beach, between the smaller Komiža shores of Bjažićovo and Žanićovo.

It takes approximately five to ten minutes of easy walking from the promenade, depending on your starting point and chosen street. The final approach leads through the residential part of the town, along narrow passages and steps down to the sea. There is no long descent or challenging path, but access is not entirely flat everywhere.

The beach is easily accessible in regular summer footwear. Due to the steps and narrow passages, it is not practical for pushchairs or individuals using wheelchairs.

Arriving by Car and Parking

It is not possible to drive directly to the beach. The old part of Komiža is crisscrossed by narrow streets, and the area by the beach is reserved for pedestrians, local houses, and smaller boats.

It is best to leave your vehicle in one of the public car parks in Komiža and continue on foot to the beach. Attempting to drive down the narrow streets above the coast is not advisable, as there is no space for safe turning or parking.

For this reason, Pol Cimprijanovo is most practical for those staying in Komiža itself. For visitors arriving by car solely for swimming, Gusarica is a simpler option, although even there, it is not always easy to find a free spot nearby during the peak season.

Facilities at the Beach

There are no tourist facilities at this location. There are no showers, toilets, changing cabins, sun lounger rentals, or organised offerings directly on the beach.

The advantage is that the beach is located within the settlement. Restaurants, cafés, and shops in central Komiža can be reached within a few minutes, and additional dining options can be found towards Gusarica. Therefore, it is not necessary to carry large supplies of food and water as one might need at more remote beaches outside the town.

There is not much space along the shore for leaving belongings, so it is best to bring only a towel, water, and basic swimming gear. Since the shore is adjacent to old houses and areas used by local residents, it is particularly important not to block passages and to avoid leaving litter.

Is the Beach Suitable for Children?

Pol Cimprijanovo can be a pleasant spot for swimming with children who can walk safely on the pebbles and are accustomed to a rocky seabed. The beach is small, and entry into the sea via the central part is relatively straightforward.

However, there are no children's facilities, wide shallow areas, or natural shade. Boats and equipment related to their use are present along the shore, so children should be supervised. For families wishing to spend a larger part of the day at the beach, with more space and facilities nearby, Gusarica is a more practical choice.

It is difficult to bring pushchairs to the beach due to the narrow passages and steps. The beach is not accessible for individuals with reduced mobility.

Who is Best Suited to Pol Cimprijanovo?

This beach is most suitable for those staying in the old part of Komiža who wish to swim without travelling to a more distant bathing spot. It is good for morning swims, a quick refresh during the day, or a last dip in the evening.

It is not the best choice for visitors seeking plenty of shade, all-day beach accommodation, equipment rentals, and organised activities. Its value lies precisely in the fact that it remains a simple Komiža shore – right next to houses and boats, with clear water and a view across the harbour.

While Pol Cimprijanovo may not be a beach for which one plans an entire day, it easily becomes a place to return to each morning when staying in this part of Komiža.
