Silver Beach Rukavac Vis – beach bar at Srebrna Beach

Silver Beach is a small seasonal beach bar located at the well-known Srebrna Beach near Rukavac. It is situated in the shade of pine trees just behind the beach, making it a convenient spot for a break during the day – whether for a coffee, a cold drink, or a light snack without having to return to your accommodation.

Do not expect a traditional restaurant with an extensive menu and multi-course dinners here. Silver Beach aligns more with the character of Srebrna itself: it is simple, relaxed, and designed for bathers who wish to take a brief respite from the sun, sit in the shade, and then continue their day at the beach.

Beach bar in the shade of pine trees

The greatest advantage of Silver Beach is its location. Srebrna is renowned for its large, bright pebbles and the pine forest that nearly reaches the beach, and the bar is nestled in this green area just behind the shore.

This makes it pleasant to visit even during the hottest part of the day. While the open area of Srebrna can be quite sunny, just a few steps away under the pines, the atmosphere is noticeably more comfortable.

It is particularly practical if you plan to spend the entire day at Srebrna. There is no need to return to your apartment just for a drink or a short break from swimming.

What to expect from the offerings?

Silver Beach is best viewed as a beach bar with a simpler selection of food and drinks, rather than a destination for a serious lunch or dinner.

It makes the most sense to stop by for a coffee, juice, beer, or another cold drink and to check what is available for a quick bite to eat that day. As it is a seasonal establishment, the offerings may change throughout the summer.

If you are looking for a proper lunch or dinner, the options in Rukavac are limited. The main choices are Konoba Dalmatino, located by the sea in the older part of Rukavac, and Diamond Beach Restaurant & Bar at Tepluš Beach. Dalmatino is a better choice for traditional Dalmatian cuisine, fish, brodet, or peka, while Diamond Beach combines a restaurant and beach bar with a menu of fish, meat, and grilled dishes.

Parking and access

To reach Srebrna, you will drive through Rukavac, and the road leads to a car park approximately 250 metres from the beach. From the car park, there is a short path through the pines to the beach.

Silver Beach is located right by the beach, so there is no dedicated parking immediately next to the bar. The same access and parking are used as for Srebrna.

This is important to know if you are coming just for a drink – you cannot leave your car a few metres from the bar. However, the walk from the car park is short and not demanding.

In July and August, Srebrna is one of the busiest beaches on Vis, so parking can fill up quite quickly during the middle of the day. Arriving in the morning is more practical for both parking and finding a good spot in the shade.

When is the best time to visit?

Silver Beach is primarily a daytime venue. It is most sensible to visit while swimming at Srebrna – after a morning swim, for a break around noon, or later in the afternoon before returning to Rukavac.

If you are looking for a place for a proper dinner, Dalmatino or Diamond Beach would be better choices. Silver Beach serves a different purpose: to sit in the shade of the pines, enjoy a cold drink, and after a short rest, return to the beach.

The bar operates seasonally and is tied to the summer period, so do not rely on it being open outside the main season. Daily opening hours may also vary.

Silver Beach and Srebrna Beach

The main reason for coming here is, after all, Srebrna, and Silver Beach is a useful addition to the beach, not the other way around.

Srebrna has enough space and natural shade to spend an entire day there, and the option to grab a drink or take a short break right by the beach makes the visit easier, especially if you are coming with children or without a large bag full of food and drinks.

Silver Beach is not a large beach club with rows of sun loungers, loud music, and all-day programming. Its advantage lies precisely in its simplicity – a small seasonal bar in the pines, just a few steps from the sea on one of the most famous beaches of Vis.
