BASIC INFORMATION AND LOCATION
Sv. Filip i Jakov is a village and municipality in Zadar County. It is 25 km from Zadar and only 3 km from Biograd na moru. The municipality consists of 6 villages. According to the last census, it has 4606 inhabitants who are engaged in tourism, agriculture and fishing. It is located on the state road D8, and the nearest airport is Zadar.
CULTURE, HISTORY AND ATTRACTIONS
1000 BC. There was a small Liburnian settlement on the site of today's St. Philip and James. In the 1st century, the Romans arrived. The Croats arrived in the 7th century. The town was named after a small church from the 13th century that was destroyed. It was first mentioned in the 14th century under the name San Filip i Gacomodi Rogovo. The current town centre was created in the 16th century, and the town is dominated by the church of St. Michael from the 18th century. Borelli Park, a monument of park architecture, is also in the town centre, as are the remains of the Benedictine Palace on Rogovo and the Borelli House with the Arboretum, which is a protected natural heritage site.
BEACHES
Behind the spa is the central beach that stretches along the entire village. The pebble beach Croatia is located along the promenade that connects the village with Turanj. There are also beaches Morovićka Turanj, Krča Turanj and Sv. Petar in the towns of the same name.
OTHER CONTENT
Try Dalmatian specialties, especially fresh fish, olive oil and quality local wine at the restaurants Angela, Premier, Rea, Pristan, Margarita Maris, Čirjak and Pikolo and at the Kojo tavern. The Flower Festival at the end of April is a kind of introduction to the season, then in mid-May the Art Colony is organized, and during the season you will enjoy numerous concerts, plays, sports events and folk festivals such as klapa concerts, folklore events, the Fjaka film festival, bullock cart races and others.
SPORT
Sv. Filip i Jakov offers numerous activities for those who do not intend to just lie by the sea. You can sail, play water polo, beach volleyball, rent a bike and a boat and explore the coast. There are also tennis courts within the Margarita Maris tourist resort.

In the surrounding area there are as many as 4 national parks (Kornati, Krka, Paklenica and Plitvice Lakes), then the nature parks of Lake Vrana and Telaščica, the cities of Zadar, Nin, Biograd and Šibenik with their rich cultural and entertainment offer.
