Originally named Pozeski Snjeznik, Papuk is mentioned in medieval documents. When it comes to Slavonian mountains, Sokoline stijene (564 m) close to Gornji Vrhovci are very unusual, in some places almost vertical. The area of Papuk is an ideal place for the development of mountain tourism. Its famous recreational centers are Zvecevo, Jankovac and Velika, as well as the arboretum Lisicine. The Nature Park Papuk is full of different educational, cycling, hiking and equestrian trails, just waiting to be explored.
