BASIC INFORMATION AND LOCATION
Stomorska is a town on the island of Šolta, in the Split-Dalmatia County. It is located in the northeast of the island, 12 km from the main island port of Rogač. According to the latest census, it has 250 permanent residents who are engaged in fishing and tourism. There is a bream and sea bass farm nearby. It is very developed in terms of tourism and therefore has good maritime connections with Split.
CULTURE, HISTORY AND ATTRACTIONS
Stomorska is the oldest coastal settlement on the island, once home to skilled sailors who owned sailing ships and transported grain, lime and other products with them at a time when Šolta provided its income to Split. Today, the people of Stomorska also own sailing ships, but they use them for tourist purposes. Stomorska was named after Our Lady (Saint Mary). Namely, it is located below the shrine of Our Lady of Stomorija (or Our Lady of Bora). It was mentioned as early as the 17th century. The church of St. Nicholas is also located in the village.
BEACHES
In the center of Somorska is the central beach, and on the left and right sides of the bay are numerous smaller ones, each more beautiful than the other. Stomorska has beaches with showers, among the beaches there are flat areas for sunbathing, ideal for jumping into the sea. Go to Veli Dolac beach with a beach bar, on the right is Điga beach or further along the promenade choose one to your taste.
OTHER CONTENT
Stomorska is full of restaurants. Visit Volat, Turanj, O' La La, Komin, Kamenica, Iko's Farm, Bokuncin and the Nevera tavern and taste traditional local specialties, wine and quality Šolta olive oil. In summer, have fun at the fishermen's festivals and in full restaurants and taverns.

There are various options for active vacations, from diving, cycling and walking along the island's marked trails, windsurfing, and kayaking.
WHAT TO DO AND EXCURSION OPPORTUNITIES
The proximity of the ancient cities of Split, Trogir and Salona is a great advantage. From Split you can go to Brač, Hvar or Vis for one-day trips. By private car or through an agency arrangement you can also reach nearby cities that are 2-3 hours away by car (Šibenik, Zadar, Makarska, Međugorje, Dubrovnik), then to the national parks of Krka and Plitvice Lakes, to the nature park of Biokovo.
ACCOMMODATION
In addition to private apartments, houses and luxury villas for vacation in Stomorska, there is also the Mido campsite if you are a fan of such accommodation. The town also has a mooring of the same name, 2-6m deep, with 30 berths, of which 4 berths for boats over 50m long.
