BASIC INFORMATION AND POSITION
The island of Mljet, located in South Dalmatia, is also the southernmost and easternmost of the larger Croatian islands, and belongs to the Dubrovnik-Neretva County. You can reach the island in many ways, Mljet is well connected by ferry lines to other places (the ferry port is in Sobra). There is also a catamaran that departs from Dubrovnik and docks in Sobra and Polače, and the nearest airport is in Dubrovnik.

The island of Mljet offers numerous beautiful destinations, we will mention a few: Mljet National Park, Babino polje (in the immediate vicinity of which is Odysseus' Cave), Saplunara (known for its two most beautiful sandy beaches), the bays of Pomena and Polače, and Sobra, which is the busy center of the island.
HISTORY,CULTURE
The island of Mljet has a long and rich history that stretches from the Stone Age through the Illyrians, Greeks, Romans, Slavs, the Dubrovnik Republic, Austro-Hungarian Empire to the present day. The island certainly has many sights worth seeing, in addition to the famous Mljet National Park, there are also: Odysseus' Cave, the Rector's Palace and the Church of St. Blaise in Babino Polje, the Roman Palace in Polače.
BEACHES
On the island of Mljet, there are truly magical beaches: Velika and Mala Saplunara - popular and beautiful sandy beaches in the cove of the same name, the hidden sandy cove of Blace near Saplunara, Sutmiholjska - a popular sandy beach where peace and quiet untouched nature reigns, and is located in the central part of the island.

Mljet is also known for its superb gastronomy, you can try the specialties and enjoy them if you visit some of the listed restaurants-taverns: restaurant Maestral (place Okuklje), restaurant Stermasi (place Saplunara), Stella Maris (place Polače), tavern Ribar (place Pomena). Although there are many other praised taverns throughout the island, whichever one you choose, you won't go wrong. Nightlife includes various concerts with entertainment and sub-content, so lovers of nightlife can always find something for themselves.

The island of Mljet is an inexhaustible source of beauty, there are truly numerous options available when it comes to sightseeing, we will mention a few: Mljet National Park (which encompasses most of the island and the popular salt lakes Veliko and Malo), Odysseus' Cave (on the southern side of the island near Babino Polje), and the three most beautiful bays on the island: Saplunara, Pomena and Polača.
