The first written mention of the place and the church of the Holy Trinity is in the đabbot's account of St. Mary on the Lake from September 24, 1345. During the time of the Dubrovnik Republic, the place was inhabited by fishermen and shipbuilders who made it rich and significant in this part of the Republic. The church was left in1477by the chancellor of Venice and chaplain pop Luka to the Benedictines , so it is no wonder that their spirit of work and prayer was felt in the town and beyond. A beautiful and valuable cross dates from the 12th century. and was brought from Lokrum. This cross is located in a niche by the main altar and originated in a workshop in Germany and is considered by some historians to be the most beautiful piece of art on the island. The interior of this Gothic building has a high pointed broken vault. Its exterior walls are framed on all sides by a series of suspended Gothic arcades and tall windows. All this suggests that it was indeed built or completely remodeled by the Benedictines. The main altar has an image of the Holy Trinity depicting the Assumption of Mary. Along the altar are statues of the Heart of Jesus and Mary, in the middle of the church there are paintings of St. Leopold Mandic and the Virgin Mary.
