Vela Farska Beach, Brač | Large Pebble Cove on the Southern Side of the Island

Vela Farska Beach is situated on the southern side of Brač, nestled between the towns of Bol and Murvice, in a large natural cove surrounded by rocky terrain, vineyards, and a few rustic houses. The cove is somewhat removed from the main tourist areas, giving it a quieter and more natural feel compared to many of the island's more popular beaches.

The beach is broad and pebbly, featuring a mix of small stones and rocky sections along the edges of the cove. The water is exceptionally clear and quickly deepens, yet the entry remains gentle enough for comfortable swimming. Open to the south, the cove enjoys plenty of sunshine throughout the day, while natural shade can be found along the edges where pine trees and Mediterranean vegetation grow.

Access to Vela Farska has improved significantly, as an asphalted road now leads almost directly to the cove. The final stretch to the beach does include a short unpaved section, but the journey is no longer as challenging as it once was. Nevertheless, the road is narrow in places, so it is advisable to drive slowly during the season, especially when encountering oncoming vehicles.

Parking is available above the beach along the access road. This is not a large, organised car park but rather a few widened areas along the road and a stony space where visitors can leave their cars. It takes a few minutes to walk from the parking area to the water. During July and August, spaces can fill up by late morning.

The beach lacks large beach bars or typical tourist infrastructure. This absence contributes to the cove's natural appearance. Nearby, there are a few rustic houses and apartments, but there are no shops or restaurants directly by the beach, so it is advisable to bring water and basic supplies for the day.

The landscape surrounding the cove is particularly striking. Above the beach, one can see old vineyards and stone terraces that descend almost to the sea, giving the area a wild and open feel. When there are not many people around, the sounds of waves, crickets, and the wind from the open sea dominate the atmosphere.

Vela Farska is popular among those seeking a quieter part of Brač, free from loud music and large crowds. Many sailors visit the cove during the day, drawn by the exceptionally clean waters and sheltered position.

While the beach does not offer many facilities, this is precisely why it retains a more natural appearance than most of the well-known locations around Bol.
