Macel Beach in Pučišća | Town Beach Near the Centre of the Village

Macel Beach, or Pučišća Beach as it is marked on Google Maps, is situated along Put Macela, just east of the village centre. It is one of the main town beaches in Pučišća, easily reachable on foot from the waterfront in just a few minutes, without the need for a car or descending to hidden coves outside the village.

The beach consists of a mix of fine pebbles, rocky sections, and concreted areas by the sea. The entry into the water is quite straightforward, and the sea is very clear and calm, as the entire Pučišća cove is well protected from the wind. Due to its location within the village, it is a popular spot for families with children, those who prefer not to walk far, and individuals looking for a quick swim during an evening stroll through Pučišća.

A promenade and road run alongside the beach, making access very convenient. Parking is available along Put Macela and in the surrounding streets, but it can become quite full during July and August, as the beach is practically in the centre of the village. A notable aspect of Macel is that it is not an isolated cove but a town beach surrounded by apartments, cafés, and houses, all within a few minutes' walk.

During the summer, additional facilities such as pedal boats, recreational boards, an aqua park, and smaller summer activities on the water can often be found at the beach.

Macel does not offer much natural shade, so during the hottest part of the day, many people use sun umbrellas or head towards the edges near the stone walls and pine trees. The sea is generally very calm, making the beach suitable for longer swims within the cove itself.

In contrast to more remote coves like Luka or Lučica, Macel functions more as an everyday town beach where people come for a quick dip, morning swim, or a few hours by the sea without any special planning. In the evening, it is particularly pleasant as the beach offers views of the entire illuminated Pučišća cove and the stone houses along the waterfront.
