Uja Museum in Škrip – the tradition of olive oil on the island of Brač

The Uja Museum is a unique museum dedicated to the history of olive oil production on the island of Brač , located in an old renovated oil mill in the village of Škrip. The museum represents a blend of cultural heritage, gastronomy and authentic island experience.

History and founding

The original oil mill in Škrip was founded in 1864 , when the Krstulović family began processing olives using traditional methods. The mill operated until 1963, when it ceased operations due to the modernization of production.

The museum was renovated and opened to the public in 2013 , when the Cukrov family restored the space and turned it into a cultural attraction that preserves the tradition of olive growing on Brač.
