The Church of Our Lady of Spilica was built in the sixteenth century. It is the central church of the town of Vis, located between two parts of the city, Kuta and Luka. It is named after the numerous hollows and caves on which it was built. The oldest central part is built in Gothic-Renaissance style. Next to it were the chapels of St. Roka i sv. Rosary.The church has five altars, the main one of which stands out for its slimness. The church contains tombstones of various priests and nobles as well as the writer A. M. Karamane. In front of the church was once an old cemetery that is no longer used today.
