BASIC INFORMATION AND LOCATION
Zaton is a populated place within the city of Nin in Zadar County. A small tourist town with only 580 permanent residents. It is located between two historic cities – Nin (2km) and Zadar (12km), in the very center of the Adriatic coast, on the shore of the bay of the same name in the Zadar Channel. Good road connections, regular domestic and international bus and ferry lines from Zadar, and the proximity of Zadar Airport allow you to arrive quickly and comfortably.
CULTURE, HISTORY AND ATTRACTIONS
In the Zaton area, remains of life and culture have been known since the beginning of the Bronze Age, about 4,000 years ago. The town gradually developed in its current location from the end of the 17th century, after the withdrawal of the Turks. Until recently, the town lived off farming, livestock farming and fishing. Visit the church of St. Nicholas from the 11th/12th century, the remains of the church of St. Andrew, the Kaštelina Tower and the parish church dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary from the 17th century.
BEACHES
Sandy beaches in the shade of centuries-old pine trees are ideal for families with children. Jaz-Vrulja beach is pebbly and sandy with a shallow entrance to the sea, which is ideal for children and the elderly. A promenade with catering facilities and various tourist facilities stretches along the coast. The sandy beach of Pliša-Ploče is ideal for a holiday with children. The natural rocky beach of Punta stretches along the coast. The beach, which is located in the Zaton Holiday Resort, carries the Blue Flag as an internationally recognized mark of quality and facilities. Two kilometers from the town is the Bilotinjak beach with fine sand, ideal for children and non-swimmers.

Be sure to visit one of the restaurants that will provide you with an unforgettable experience of Dalmatian cuisine, accompanied by exceptionally high-quality wines. These are Il Capo, Jaz, Antika, Adria, Art, Marinero and Castellum. Be sure to visit the Mashtel brandy and wine tasting room. Tourist festivals, exhibitions, cultural and entertainment events on summer stages are part of the entertainment offered to you during the summer. For the youngest, an open-air cinema on the summer stage, the Adriatic Games and a music summer school are organized. The world championship in mini golf is held in September, and in November the Extreme Crosscountry Race Zaton / Nin.

Fans of active holidays have the opportunity to engage in various sports and recreation: horseback riding, tennis, diving, bicycle tours in the area, mini golf, table tennis, bocce courts, sea skiing, windsurfing, parasailing, basketball, five-a-side football, handball and volleyball courts, aerobics.
